After the implant surgery – what you should pay attention to

Good tips for implant patients

Do not drive home alone, especially not by car, as your ability to react may be reduced as a result of the local anesthesia. Give the wound time to heal – speak as little as possible during the first few days and rest.

Do not eat or drink again until the anesthesia has worn off. When eating, try not to include the area of the implants. Eat soft foods. Any existing temporary dentures should only be worn or not worn as instructed.

Good oral hygiene is also important during wound healing. Rinse your mouth carefully with water and a prescribed mouthwash after each meal. Immediately after the procedure, the wound should be left alone for a few hours. So-called swabs are often placed on the operated mucous membrane. These can be thrown away after an hour. Please clean your teeth very carefully and with a soft brush!

And – actually a matter of course: Make sure you keep the agreed appointment for follow-up treatment. If you have any problems, you can of course contact the clinic beforehand at any time.
