Sinus lift – bone augmentation for implants

  • by

A special form of building up bone volume

Sinus lift – the term does not mean an elevator for passenger transport or even a special crane for heavy loads, but a method for building up bone volume for the placement of implants.

The situation is as follows: In patients who have lost teeth or who have been toothless for a long time, the body breaks down bone parts that are no longer stressed. The bone volume is no longer sufficient to place implants.

A small bone deficiency can be filled with bone substitute materials. These can come from different sources – your own oral cavity, animals or synthetic production.

Often a sinus lift is the only way to create sufficient bone for implants. Sinus lift is a special form of bone structure in which the maxillary sinus is raised in the upper jaw. This happens through the storage of bone or bone substitute material between the maxillary sinus mucosa and the bones in the maxillary sinus (maxillary sinus).

In order to determine the patient’s individual anatomical conditions and the extent of the bone structure before the operation, we at the ZZZW use the ultra-modern 3D diagnostic tool, a digital volume tomograph. Even patients with few teeth or small jawbones do not have to forego high-quality dentures and thus a better quality of life.
